Introduction

Zelna Winery is a family-run business that began in 2014 with just a few hectares of vineyards in Balatonfüred. Today, they cultivate 17 hectares across four vineyards—two in Balatonfüred, one in Tihany, and one in Balatonszőlős—using strictly organic and sustainable methods in their modern winery.

In addition to Olaszrizling, the most important variety of the Balatonfüred-Csopak wine region, they grow Szürkebarát (Pinot Gris), Merlot, Kékfrankos, and Zweigelt, which form the foundation of both their varietal wines and blends. The team is constantly experimenting and renewing their vineyards to create wines that express not only the character of the grapes and terroir but also their perspective on the environment and the world.

Their key vineyard sites include the Berekszél and Farkó-kő vineyards in Balatonfüred, the Farkasverem vineyard in Tihany, and the Penke vineyard in Balatonszőlős.

Over the years, Zelna has developed into a tight-knit, skilled team that understands how to unlock the full potential of each plot—whether crafting a pure varietal wine or an exciting blend.

Their state-of-the-art winery was completed in autumn 2014 in Balatonfüred. Although their estate has since expanded to 17 hectares, all vineyards are within a few minutes' reach, allowing for even more precise and attentive vineyard management.

Located in the heart of Balatonfüred on the revitalized Zákonyi Ferenc Street, the Zelna Wine Bar and Vinothèque operates as an independent arm of the winery. Its mission is to bring Zelna’s wines closer to wine lovers and showcase their unique style in an approachable and elegant setting.
