The villa stands on the former Esterházy estate. Before World War II, the building was owned by Lajos Szabó, the proprietor of the Debreczen Restaurant in Budapest.
After nationalization, it became a holiday resort for the National Specialized Trade Company. During this time, a new wing was added, and the villa underwent modernization in line with the spirit of the era.
