We currently cultivate 45 hectares of our own vineyards, which were planted between 2006 and 2017.
The varietal composition is 80% white wine grape varieties: Olaszrizling, Rizlingszilváni, Irsai Olivér, Királyleányka, Rajnai rizling, Chardonnay, and Tramini. In line with market demands and the excellent soil conditions, we planted 8 hectares of red wine varieties between 2006 and 2008: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Kékfrankos.
The winery's storage capacity includes 4,500 hl of refrigerated stainless steel tanks, 300 hl of oak barrels, and 600 hl of red wine fermentation tanks. We mainly use reductive technology for winemaking. For aromatic varieties (Irsai Olivér, Királyleányka, Rizlingszilváni), we apply semi-reductive technology to preserve the primary fruity characteristics of the varieties. We prefer oak barrel aging for special wines, including Olaszrizling, Chardonnay, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
In 2020, with the help of grant funding, we purchased a new pneumatic press, making our grape processing even more gentle.
In addition to bulk wines, we also produce bottled wines, with the help of modern bottling and labeling equipment since 2003.
Our recent large-scale investment has made one of our dreams come true. We now welcome our guests in a European-standard tasting room combined with a visual cellar, offering a premium wine experience.
We founded the company in 1995 as Pannon-Borház Borászati Vállalkozás Egyéni Cég and became Vaszary Pincészet Kft. in 2010. We are still known by this name today.
According to the family chronicle, my grandfather already had vineyards and a cellar in Écs at the end of the 1800s. Continuing the family tradition, I began my studies in winemaking in Budafok, the Mecca of Hungarian winemakers, where I earned a diploma as a viticulture technician. I then completed my studies at the University of Horticulture.
I worked for over twenty years as the winemaking director of the Pannonhalma Cooperative and earned my degree in winemaking and beverage technology during my work. In my thesis (1986), I was the first to explore the thousand-year history of grape and wine production in the Pannonhalma-Sokoróalja Hills, which served as the foundation for our initiative to declare the region as an independent historical wine region (Pannonhalma Wine Region).
Currently, my three daughters work alongside me in the family business: Hajnalka (office manager), Orsolya (vinotek – business manager), and Eszter (Corvinus University: viticulture and winemaking consultant, managing director). The latest generation is represented by my grandson, Márk (Budafok School of Viticulture: wine and sparkling wine production technician), who also participates in the daily operations.
