The tradition of viticulture in the Sopron wine region stretches back thousands of years. The journey from the Taschner grandparents' wine tasting establishment to the winery with a magnificent view of Schneeberg has been a long one. I graduated as an economist in 1995 and began working alongside my father. At that time, I handled tasks related to bottling and welcomed guests in the family’s two-century-old cellar. Between 1998 and 2000, I completed a winemaker training program at the University of Horticulture, and since then, I have been managing the 29-hectare vineyard. Together with my father and the winery team, we work in the vineyard and cellar, while also actively participating in community wine marketing and wine tourism in Sopron.

As our vineyard area grew, we needed a larger cellar, so in 2004, we built the current Taschner Winery, which offers an extraordinary panorama of the city, the surrounding mountains, and, on clear days, even the Austrian Schneeberg. The building, located on the hill above the city and known as the "Pihenőkereszt" (Resting Cross), was designed to fit the winemaking technological processes. The processing area, aging and storage cellar, warehouse, and bottling facility are located on the cellar level, while the wine shop and tasting room are on the ground floor. This way, all viticultural and winemaking activities take place in one location, and we can showcase the full portfolio of our wines and sparkling wines to our guests.
