Holdvölgy Estate is a remarkable place located in the heart of Hungary's world-renowned Tokaj Wine Region, in Mád, just a few kilometers away from the geographical center of Europe. The Mádi Basin is exceptional for winemaking in many ways, including its soil quality, climate, and both macro and microclimates. Mád, one of the key villages in the wine region, has existed since the 15th century and has historically been a meeting point for barons, counts, nobles, and wine merchants. It was here that the destiny of the wine region was determined, both in terms of winemaking and trade.

Currently, Holdvölgy Estate operates on 28 hectares, located on Mád's best first-class, historic sites across 7 different vineyards and 30 parcels. The 500-year-old aging cellar is essentially a 1.8 km-long labyrinth, spread across three levels and containing 109 cellar branches.

Together, these factors provide Holdvölgy Estate with the necessary foundation and opportunities to achieve its set goals.

The establishment of the winery is tied to a birthday gift. From a one-hectare vineyard, the estate grew to 28 hectares by 2021, with the primary goal of creating an iconic, internationally recognized brand. They are convinced that to achieve these goals, considering all the major wine regions of the world, only Tokaj-Hegyalja, and specifically Mád, offered the opportunity at the beginning of the 21st century.
