The wines representing the new quality of Grand Tokaj Winery come from the workshop of our chief winemaker, Károly Áts and his team. Known for his 100-point essence and awarded Winemaker of the Year in 2012, every bottle of wine carrying the Grand Tokaj label is crafted under his supervision.

According to Károly Áts, the personality of the winemaker always shines through in the wine. His wines radiate happiness and a love for life. He always thinks optimistically because he believes that without this mindset, joy would not be conveyed into the wine—after all, only a happy winemaker can create great wine. He considers himself a content man, as his hobby is also his work. As a native of Tokaj-Hegyalja, wine and vineyards have always been present in his life through his father. His goal is to give back nature's gifts through his wines and bring joy to his consumers.
