Our story began in 2015, when we decided to revive this area with excellent potential. This iconic, energetic region was known as a winemaking area even in Roman and Quadi times.

In the Middle Ages, the finest wines of the Esztergom Archdiocese were produced here. The reputation of this exclusive nectar spread to Bratislava and Vienna, although the local wine merchants were not pleased. The wines from the Lower Garam Valley outshone the city wines to such an extent that the king issued a decree banning their import.

According to legend, the king cunningly ordered that the wines from Esztergom be transported to Bratislava by cart, rather than by boat, hoping they would spoil on the way. However, the plan failed, and the wines' fame spread far and wide, reaching Germany and Poland.

Thanks to our winery, this picturesque region is now being reborn. The vineyards of Világi Winery, bordered by three rivers—the Danube, the Garam, and the Ipoly—enjoy a unique climate. The carefully tended vines, spread across the lush hills, ripen harmoniously under the warm rays of the sun.

The special qualities of this region are reflected in our wines. Our classic labels evoke the Danube and its iconic sturgeon, as well as the wild, romantic forest that surrounds our vineyards and is home to the mouflons.
