Three years ago, a young man from the local area purchased the Királyhelmec Csonkavár (Ruined Castle) and its surrounding land. According to him, owning his own winery had been a long-cherished dream.

"Since my vineyards are in Királyhelmec, I searched for a suitable location for the winery here as well. On the advice of a close friend, I came across Csonkavár and its original medieval cellar," the young man told our newspaper. In addition to coordinating the work at Csonkavár, he holds a leadership position at the SAP Ariba company in Germany.

During a tour of the ongoing excavations at the complex, Bertalan Gönczy shared with Új Szó that purchasing the castle and its cellar fulfilled his childhood dream. However, he never imagined that the ruins would lead to such discoveries over the past three years.
