The Gemerprodukt OVD Cooperative was founded in 2003, although its origins trace back to 1998 when one of the founding members operated independently under the name SHR.

A significant turning point in the cooperative's history occurred thanks to the initiative of another founding member, who proposed integrating 65 hectares of vineyard in 1999. To further stabilize the business, the stakeholders decided to establish a company with the involvement of two families, leading to the formation of their own cooperative. In 2004, the cooperative purchased all assets and resources of the originally independent SHR and continued its economic activities.
