From a young age, I have been deeply drawn to and fascinated by both gastronomy and nature. It’s no coincidence that I pursued my studies in that exact order. I first earned a diploma in hospitality, which allowed me to engage daily with wine during my practical training and later in my work. This exposure sparked a passion that led me to enroll in the Soós István Winemaking Technical School in Budafok. It was there that I truly fell in love with the world of wine.

After completing the two-year program, the idea of starting a shared cellar came up during my graduation with my childhood friend, László Timár. We dreamed of a space where I could express myself and dedicate myself to my art: winemaking. To achieve this ambitious goal, I completed the viticulture and enology program at Budapest’s Corvinus University (Faculty of Horticulture). During my studies, I forged many friendships in Eger and grew increasingly enamored with the beauty of the Eger wine region.

Today, we are inseparable. Guided by divine inspiration, in 2008, we managed to rent a small tufa-carved cellar in Andornaktálya. This is where the first hobby wines of the Havas & Timár Winery were created from the 2008 vintage, followed by the fantastic 2009 vintage. These wines were produced in small quantities—just one barrique barrel each—and they quickly found their way to enthusiasts after tasting samples directly from the barrels. Despite the outstanding vintage, we knew that to grow, we needed to acquire a cellar with proper infrastructure.

That moment came in September 2011, when we purchased our current cellar in Eger, at Kiskőporos Square. Since the 2011 vintage, all our wines have been made here. Over the years, the cellar has undergone significant developments to ensure the best hygienic conditions for crafting our artisanal wines.
