István, who loved working in the vineyard from a young age and was even more passionate about winemaking, comes from a family with deep roots in viticulture. Both his parents and his wife’s parents cultivated grapes and produced wine. Over time, István repurchased the vineyards once owned by his great- and great-great-grandparents. As the years passed, his children grew up, new family members joined, and he now works alongside his son-in-law, Zsolt, on a 3-hectare estate. The estate features newly planted vineyards, orchards, and a wine cellar where their exquisite wines are crafted.
Over the years, Zsolt mastered the art of winemaking, becoming a certified wine judge, expert, and consultant. Both he and István are members of the Kisfaludi Wine Club, with Zsolt now leading the club. He is also a member of the Saint Benedict Wine Order and organizes professional workshops, trips, and excursions. A 3-meter-tall wooden statue of Saint Urban, carved by István’s son from a poplar tree, proudly stands on the estate. Visible from the main road, the statue can be admired during opening hours in the Wine Garden, accompanied by a fine glass of wine. During its inauguration in 2019, wine orders from all regions of the country gathered to celebrate.
Their wine cellar is nestled in an enchanting forest, where István’s wife, a devoted flower enthusiast, has created a stunning floral display that blooms from spring to autumn.
Zsolt has also established a family business, with his wife and children working together in the vineyards and orchards. After harvest, they produce handcrafted products like jams, syrups, and juices, which they showcase at various events and markets.
