Bortodoor – An international wine bar in the heart of Budapest

Bortodoor is a welcoming wine bar with an international atmosphere, located in Budapest’s 6th district, just a short walk from the Hungarian State Opera House. Founded by three friends from abroad, it has become a lively meeting place for wine lovers, locals and visitors from around the world.

The wine selection celebrates Hungary’s diverse wine regions, with a particular focus on smaller, independent producers, alongside a carefully chosen range of international wines. For the Bortodoor team, wine is more than just a drink. It’s a shared language that brings people together, whether they call Budapest home or are simply visiting for a few days.

You don't need to be a wine expert to feel at home here. The relaxed atmosphere, personal recommendations and stories behind the bottles are all part of the experience. Over a glass of Hungarian wine, you might find yourself chatting with someone at the next table or simply soaking up the lively atmosphere of this Budapest wine bar.

Bortodoor is the kind of place you stop by for a glass of wine and end up staying for the whole evening.
