There are few places around Lake Balaton where wine and scenery come together quite like they do at the Laposa Wine Terrace. Perched high on the slopes of Badacsony, the terrace offers spectacular panoramic views over Lake Balaton and the surrounding volcanic landscape – a setting that makes the wines taste just that little bit better.

During the tasting, you will sample four Laposa wines showcasing the character of the Badacsony wine region and some of its most typical grape varieties. You can follow the recommendations of the knowledgeable staff or let them know which Laposa wines you are particularly interested in.

Badacsony is one of Hungary’s most distinctive wine regions. Its volcanic soils, steep vineyard slopes and the moderating influence of Lake Balaton create a unique environment for viticulture and give the local wines their unmistakable character.

The tasting itself is relaxed and unhurried. Take your time over each glass, enjoy the views and ask the staff about the wines, grape varieties and the region.

If you would like to turn the tasting into a more complete gastronomic experience, you can add a cheese platter or a cold platter to your booking. You can also extend the standard four-wine tasting with two additional Laposa wines.

Allow approximately one hour for the experience – although with a glass of Badacsony wine in hand and Lake Balaton stretching out below you, you may find yourself in no hurry to leave.
