In winemaking, our primary focus is blending the traditional flavors of Eger with the latest modern technologies. At our estate, every step—from planting the vines to bottling the wine—is carried out by our team, ensuring complete control over the process. Grape processing is done using both traditional and reductive methods. Most of our white wines are produced with controlled fermentation. For red wines, after fermentation on the skins, they are aged for 1.5–2 years in traditional oak barrels, followed by at least six months of bottle aging before release.
About "Uncle Feri"
For those who know him, the word "uncle" takes on a completely different meaning when referring to Ferenc Tóth, the founder of our winery. Strength, drive, perseverance, a love for nature and vineyards, and a mischievous smile under his mustache—all define Ferenc Tóth to this day. Born in Eger in 1939, his life, like the era itself, was filled with challenges. At the age of 16, with guidance from his uncle, he made his first Egri Bikavér. However, political restrictions prevented him from pursuing a career in winemaking, forcing him to spend decades in the construction industry. Yet, his connection to viticulture never faded.
In 1983, at the first opportunity, he returned to his roots—vineyards and wine. With his wife, Marika, a commercial instructor, he boldly started their family farm on 1.5 hectares, an ambitious move at the time.
Through relentless work, perseverance, faith, and Marika's unwavering support, he overcame countless challenges. Even in the most difficult times, he continued to develop the estate, laying the foundations of today's winery step by step. With over 60 harvests of experience, the winery now cultivates nearly 30 hectares, including some of the finest vineyards in Eger, enabling the production of exceptional wines.
